Provenance
When I sold my last business (The Chocolate Society) in April 2007 I wanted to travel and show my children some different places and people. I wasn't sure what would come out of it but I decided it was now or never, for me anyway.
Also a new business had to be started as soon as possible and I decided it would have to be food. But back to basics to avoid as much as possible the risk of getting dragged back into food alchemy as I had come to call it. I wanted to know who was growing what I sold and I wanted my customers to have the opportunity to hear a true story about the people and the products.
I had met a guy called Ben from Bali in 2004 and from what he told me of what he was doing in Bali I had wanted to go and see for myself-.it was this that inspired the decision to start Speciality Farm Foods.
In a few words below I have tried to capture the joy of our discovery as we have visited our suppliers at home.
