Asha Nepal
Asha Nepal is a charity supporting the human rights of girls in Nepal. In a male dominated society women and girl children have little or no voice and are neither protected or promoted.
More than 15,000 girls from Nepal alone are traded each year to the red light districts of other countries and or slavery.
Many girls are abused at home and are expected from childhood to carry out hard labour without any prospect of obtaining an education, others are put into domestic labour from a very young age where they are open to physical, sexual and psychological abuse.
Asha Nepal came close to my heart when they used the power of photography as one of the many ways they help these girls. Log on to their website to find out how.
